There is only one phone company here, Telkom. We can get an ADSL line (the fastest available internet connection here) but, Telkom imposes a 3 gig cap! Once you've uploaded/downloaded 3 gigs, you get slowed down so badly that you can't load international pages at all, only local, .co.za pages work! This cap is reset every month, but still, it totally eliminates the use of Bittorrent, I downloaded Kill Bill and I was so impressed with BT, I was planning on using it more, until I found out that the one film took 3 gigs (1 gig download, 2 gig uploading) and I was capped after 1 day!

That's no piracy measure, that's just what the contract says...

Here in holland we have some ISP's that also have this

Same here in Belgium - check your contract , you hould be able to buy extra GB for peanuts. Belgacom offers 10 GB / month with additional 5 GB packages at 5 € a pop. Either that or it's 64 kb/s for the rest of the month...

No, it's a piracy measure, that's what they call it...

An extra 3 gigs is $20 and you get slowed down to less then 14 KB/S...International sites are DEAD
