    Ok,

I've got a GeForce FX 5200 and I think it's crap When ever I want to play a decent game with it I always end up having to lower the res, shadows, effects etc just to get a smooth frame rate or I'm forced to play in bullet time! This is with polygon heavy games like Halo, GTA3 etc.

    My specs,

    Win 2K Pro
    512 DDR Ram
    2600 Athlon
    80g HD
    K7Triniton NForce2 MotherBoard

I want my PC to play games like an Xbox on speed! I want all the video settings in a game cracked up to max without a hint of slow down!

So which card IYO is the best?

    Happy new year! :beerchug:

An Xbox on speed, so... that'd be a 64MB GeForce MX 200??

121, with them specs, them games mentioned should play perfect.

I have a 1.3ghz duron, geforce4 MX440 64mb, 512mb sdram and them games run fine on my system.

I have noticed so much threads about this fx 5200 and it sounds like a peice of shit to me.

You should get a geforcefx 5600. Its pretty good and not to expensive

    Evil Gemini,

Do you think the GeForce FX 5600 will make a huge difference? The FX 5200 runs great if all video settings/effects in a game are drastically reduced.

Can the GeForce FX 5600 handle high resolutions without slow down? Maybe I need more ram? Is there a card that out performs the GeForce FX 5600?

as DWk said, the 5600 would be way better than the 5200.

By bro has one and it kicks ass.

Im not a graphics card person but the fx5200 doesnt sound that much more powerfull than my geforce4

Also i have never had any problems with it.

or u can be like me and buy both a sapphire 9800xt and a chaintech 5950 ultra

btw the 5600 can not handle the games u mentioned at any FPS above 30 on 1600 x 1200

The 9700Pro wins on every test exept 3, there only loosing by 1 or 2 FPS. The 9700Pro wins by a decent amount in every other test, and once you turn the filtering up is wins by about 20FPS in all the test. I say the 9700Pro for $220.
