how do you "lock" the pc in windows xp. i know this can be done after a screen saver but theres an other way which ive forgot. it says something like

"this pc has been locked. only admin or an admin can unlock the pc".

then a username and password login box below it.

Windows key + L is what I suppose you mean ....
Providing your account requires a password, it works well.

hey, theres a program called tweakxp, and i was flickin hrough it, and it has a section where it lets you lock your computer, so that to get back on you have to have a password, so you could use it if you want. hope this helped

    you can use this:

right click desktop then new shortcut then cpy and paste:

    %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe user32.dll,LockWorkStation

then name it watever say "lock pc"
then when you double cliick it will either bring up welcome screen or locked workstation- this depends what type logo on you have.

you can use this shortcut for tasks so say lock pc at a certain time.

i got this tip from m$'s tips area
