256mb ddr sucks! im running it right now and i cant stand it, cant do much with my computer, hell, downloading something in bittorent and trying to run a game is slow enough, and i dont run any AV or firewall. i cant imagine the kind of setting id have to go to if i ran those. my advice: dont get that system, not enough memory, and way to expensive for the stuff your getting. read a little bit online and build your own. you'll be so much happier.
i had 256sdram! it ran like a charm....! and im a heavy gamer and download over 40gigs a month! and upload over 10-20gigs! i never had problems with ram...

now i got a new mobo so i had to get ddr!

the only problem was tht it took a while to load all the programs at start up otherwise it was perfect!

true true, but my current system has 384mb ram (256+128). so, if the mobo on that comp has atleast 3 ram slots, i can easily have a total of 256+256+128= [SIZE=7]640 MB[SIZE=7]. [SIZE=1] and i can always grab some ram for 30 bucks at any local comp store . if anyone knows of any other good sites that have comps prebuilt and ready to order that ship to/in canada, pls post the link. i'm not really into the customiztion of the comp which you can do online because, frankly, my budget is 1200 bucks total. oh god, only if i knew how to build a comp i'd be set![SIZE=1]
don't buy a prebuilt one I doubt you could even come close to this for less the twice your budget

I dont know why you always recommend that little midget cricket system. No matter what someones needs are you always recommend that exact same setup. This is like the 5th or 6th time ive seen it.

theres only 1 pci slot in that thing! if your gonna go with something similar to that, get at least a mid-tower case, and go with an abit nf7 or an asus a7n8x motherboard, along with at least an athlonxp 2500+ barton processor.
Gaint Antispyware is the #1 greatest Spyware/Adware cleaner ever created, I recomend it to everybody, even if you don't think you need it.

Yeah, he pisses me off recommending that small ass case to EVERYONE. Get a mid tower and an Asus A7N8X mobo.

And on the ram he says X2= $138...two of those would be around $190. And its a limit to 1 per customer...thats pretty cheap for a 512MB stick...just saw that its value ram.

Ok I think he knows he can make a frag box. And he saw that price and probably thought to himself "hmm its not much cheaper"

Get the exact same stuff I got in mine..only cost me $650 without the HDD and its awesome.

stop the fighting plese :'( lol, anyways, ya thanks for the setup muchspl2. although i think, a newer mobo might be better, i heard asus makes good ones, and since it's listed in this thread might as well. okay, i found these great instruction on how to build your own comp, i think i can do it:

http://www.pcmech.com/byopc/index.htm

oh ya, and bigdawgfoxx, what's your setup that you had going for $650 minus hdd? curious, i could probably save a ton of money and get a kick ass video card and maybe some more ram. thanks for the suggestions! although i am intimidated by this "build your own computer" i was never good with building stuff, and on top of that, i'm sure i'll break something, tell me what you think of the site i posted about the how to build your own computer and tell me if it's a safe guide to follow or not. thanks again!
