Nik-j Band!

A Few months ago this Canadian girl kinda latched onto me and I ain't been able to get rid of her since (thankfully )
We got chatting one day about music, I sent her a couple of my guitar playing videos
Told me that she used to be in a band as vocals, so I asked her if she would sing for me
She said she would like to sing Patience by Guns 'n' Roses but only if I played the guitar part.
So I sat down and learnt it, she sent me her file and I mixed the 2 together, unfortunatly my soundcard was shite
and the recording was very poor quality
Well now I've sorted my probs out I have re recroded my part and remixed it

A while later my forum (link in sig...hehe shamless plug ) started a karaoke challenge
Nikki asked me to duet her (for some reason) , she chose "Pictures"
by Kid Rock & Sheryl Crowe. She sent her file, I masacred my part
and mixed it....

Next I asked her to sing another song for me to play guitar to, she asked what, I asked for "In These Arms Tonight"
by Bon Jovi, she agreed
This is new, she has'nt even heard it yet
Unfortunatly I don't have a backing track for this song so I played my part to the original track

I extracted the audio file from that video and mixed it to Nikki's voice

Like the guitar work in the first. Dont know about the voice, sounds as if something is wrong with the recording.

That was probably my crappy ass microphone - it was a bad recording - I should probably redo that now with my new mic.

@ Jonno - In These Arms sounds great, or rather you sound great... I still think I sound awful on that song.

@Bob......Nikki is right, the file she sent me had a fair bit of hiss, I had to take the hiss down and therefore resulting in a tunneling effect

Jonno, if you have Nero Wave Editor (comes with v5), it has a very good sound reduction function. Might be worth a try.

No don't have it Lamsey, I use Cool Edit Pro 2.0, it's an awesome prog but does'nt do very well at keeping quality and loosing hiss
