Thread: Sharing Files Don't Match-up?

  1. #1
    Hi everyone,

New to the forum but I think it is great! Just a quick question about sharing files.

How come in the bottom right hand corner it says I am sharing 36 files but in "My Shared Folder" it lists only 28 files???

    thanks alot

Are you downloading to a different folder which as some completed files in it ?

    No I don't think so.

When I go to the options to share folders it only shows a check in the default shared folder.

Any suggestions of other things to check would be great. I just started using Klite so not too familiar yet.

    Thanks again

do you have any hidden files in the shared folder, also check for viruses.

I'm having this exact same problem. I have scanned for viruses and I am not sharing to any other folders. What gives?

I think they are thumbnails generated by 'windows media player' you can get them to show using other progams 'winmx' being one of them

even show hidden files, they stay invisible

edit: Nero shows them up as 'Album art' on my comp.

They are called thumb.db or thumbs.db (probably the second one)

They should be visible if you show both hidden and system files.
Explorer > Tools > Folder Options.

I tried this but it still didn't work Perhaps I'm not doing it correctly. I opened up my shared folder, clicked on tools, then folder options, then the view tab. I clicked on the bubble next to "show hidden files and folders" as well as the box next to "display the contents of system folders." Nothing seemed to happen.

Is this what you meant to do or did I do something wrong?

Also, pardon the stupid question, but what is winmx?

winmx is just another p2p program, I only mentioned it because I remember that it shows all the extra files
