I got a new mobo a few months ago from here http://www.factorydirect.ca/cgi-bin/...spec.pl/MA2000. My computer froze once in a while, so I reformatted my computer, now it freezes pretty much every 10 minutes. How can I fix this?

Have you checked temps and running processes as possible causes?

Where do you go to check the temp again? I did once, but forgot how.

There are lots of add-on programs that will monitor your temps, Kayl.
I use SpeedFan because it also will control the HS fan speed.
    MotherBoardMonitor5 is also very popular.
    Both are free...google for 'em.

    freezes or BSoDs?

    freezing: check power, drivers, etc
    BSoD: check drivers

I ran SpeedFan and it gave me 3 temp readings, 48C, 40C and 29C. I've got the latest vid card drivers, I don't have a sound card but I don't know where to get drivers for the new board, other than the ones that came with the cd.

What does Task Manager ( contol+alt+del) say your CPU usage is?
Any red x's or yellow exclamation points in Device Manager?

    who made the board?

if u bought the board urself, read the box and find out the chipset (or better yet, the manufacturer)

go2 the manufacturers page and search

or go2 the chipsetmaker's page and search

    VIA: www.viaarena.com
    Intel: intel.com

those r the most popular 2

Any chance you could show us voltages?

Speedfan and Motherboard Monitor or other programs can display that info.

CPU speeds are low 0-5% but ever since I've put this board in it doesn't recognize the processor, it's simply unknown. It's the only thing I found unusual in device manager.I know it's an Athlon XP 2000, I've even checked on the processor itself to make sure. It's reading the speed right but not the name. The f$#king thing froze again while reading replies.
