Connectiong To The Internet

I have one question: How do I set up slax so that I can connect to the internet?
I have an external speedstream ethernet usb adapter modem with bell sympatico. What do I have to do to configure it? and can you give me step-by step instructions on how to set up slax to use the internet thx

p.s slax is a live (bootable linux cd)
