Thread: S-ata Drive Installation...

1. #1
i got my new s-ata drive this morning and have been having probs installing it...

i've mounted it correctly in the 5.25" -> 3.5" bracket set and have the jumper and cable correctly set up

however, i'm stuck on installing the drivers for the s-ata controller...

i've got an asus a7n8x-d so it's got an onboard s-ata controller, but i can't install the drivers for the controller as i don't have my floppy drive installed

is there anyway to install the drivers without a floppy drive or will i need to install the floppy to continue?

tia for any help or advice

I suppose you could burn them into a CD if needed for the Windows installation.

Floppy drive?
You don't need no stinking floppy drive.

The SATA drivers are on the CD that came with your board.
The very last file on the CD ( I just checked on mine...).

i've installed those, but under device manager, it's still only saying "SCSI/RAID Host Controller" and not "Silicon Image SiI 3112 Serial ATA Controller"
