Changed SPAN settings in sig a YEAR after it was removed
There are plenty of viruses on kazaa which have tried in the past to make kazaa as a homepage and change few things. It could be one of them. So you updated your virus definition files and did a complete scan and found nothing?
Do you have adaware and spybot? Do a scan with spybot, i think it might catch at least the reg entries where its been done.

edit your host file.
