When im in a channel and cant find a file i want in either ircspy or packetnews, i use the @find command, when the winndows appear with trigger info how do i get to that channel and use the trigger info?? Hope you can help as im still a bir of a noob with irc.

well rare channels that use the @find command
actually only porn and crack channels and some movies channels but most stuff are on xdcc packets
and if ur file isnt on the packetnews or the xdcc search ur using i dont think it would be available there on mIRC
and sorry if im wrong and someone would correct me

you're partially right. not all bots list to avoid being pinged out by to me request, so spiders from the xdcc search engines wont always catch them besides there being networks that some of those search engines don't catch.

you can only use @find in a channel. if you are managing to do it elsewhere and channels are listing with what you're after:

right click in the area where you see ping pong > join > join? > then put the channel name and of course cut n paste the trigger.

now if you're in the channel and use @find and it list the triger, drag you mouse over the trigger. try to get only the "/msg stuff and stop after #" and put in the pack number that was listed an voila. you got yer pack.

when ive tried ircspy/packetnews and say the bots supplying the file arent working. i type say @find big saturday night (album i want)


and then it says <TOPCAT>found: big saturday night rar. use the trigger &#33;Tc in the channel.
thing is how do i know what channel its in and how do i use the trigger?? sorry 4 being a pain in the ass
