Thread: Cant Change God Dam Multiplier!

    Ok i was looking around in my bios trying to find out were i can change my multiplier but then found out my board dosnt support it! i really need to change it because it is supposed to be set to 11.5 and it is stuck on 5.25. Is there any other way to change the multiplier?

    how do you know your board doesn't support changes in the multiplier?

    what board and cpu have you got?
    On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
    And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think "Ok, this is the limit".
    As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.

    I know it dosnt support it because i googled it and it said it dosnt on like 5 sites, and its a Athlon 1800+ Palamino, o and the mobo is a chaintech 7nif2

    the multiplier on your cpu is locked, i think...have a look here if you want to unlock it

    But even if i unlock it there are no options in my bios to change the multiplier

    I dont understand. I have fiddled with everything in my bios like fail safe defualts, best performance deafualts, fsb, and all that crap , but still the multiplier wont change.

    i dont think its set at 5.25 becuz all the mobo ive seen, the multiplier went up at .5

    and that would be some hell of a oc fsb if the multiplier is set at 5.25.

    what does your system detects the speed at?

    if what your saying is right, your system should read the thing as a bit under 700mhz

    if so, look at this picture and note the "system performance" option...what does yours say?
