Klite And Emule Running

this is some wierd sh*t, but it seems that my upload b/w
does a flop if i run both at the same time
even with b/w limits set well below my max
e.g., i get, say, 80-100 kb/s upstream, (didnt know this at the time),
so i figure a 20/20 allowance is ok (20 to emule, 20 to klite)
but when i connected to klite, with emule already goin,
my uploads in emule hit the floor, and u/l's in klite wasnt great either
any1 else ever try runnin both? and have the same prob?
i ran an upload test on my connection today and found out my u/l b/w,
and feel my configuration should be ok
(if anything, i should be able to give a little more b/w,
and still have em both runnin fine)

try "Net-Limiter 1.25"
it lets you limit the bandwith that each program is allowed as it accesses the internet

KL is a bandwidth hog. I had tried the same thing back when Kazaa made their move against KL last Dec. Even though I was primarily running eMule, I wanted to open KL so that users could access my files — wasn't interested in dl myself. Only problem was that KL gobbled as much ul bandwidth as it could regardless of how I configured traffic. The only way I found to solve the problem was to disable file sharing and that defeated the purpose of my link to FT, so what was the point?

I often run multiple p2p apps simultaneously and KL was the only app to ever give me trouble.

Net Limiter lets you allocate however many K/b to each Internet application you may have running

For example if you have 512 dsl or whatever it is.....
you can tell it to let kazaa have 10Kb up and 20Kb down, let emule have 20Kb up and 20Kb down and let bit-torrent have 15Kb down and 10Kb up and leave the remaining bandwith for Internet explorer
Dont worry if my numbers dont add up to 512 dsl speed ..it was just an example

Yeah, Pirate, I know but I'm kind of a lazy by nature.

My only reason for connecting to FT back then was to help out fellow KL users. Was a pain in the ass that it was so hard for me to do so without reconfiguring everything I had running. I mean come on, I just wanted to dedicate my extra bandwidth to support of KL. Why did it have to be so much work for my lazy a**?

tried it out, but couldnt be bothered to find a 'full' version

This may be a little late, but it sounds like the problem is due to confusion of kbits and kbytes. The number for your upload capacity is 99.99% of the time in kbits, whereas the upload limit in emule is in kbytes; Kazaa's upload limit is in kbits. I, for example, have 256kbit upload bandwidth so I have emule limited to 20kbytes (160kbits) and K-Lite limited to 64kbits (8kbytes) - enough left over for browsing and anything else.
