Surely their top of the range 'Intel Pentium 10 with Sidewinder Missiles inc. Pentagon Grade Firewall' should be able to stop these scripts.

Well I clicked it and used ZA to deny access and killed off IE without having to reboot. I got up to 143 telnet windows. All the windows flashing up almost gave me a seizure!

Its a nice little test and I dont mind them but I would prefer if the thread poster mentioned the contents of the link and it's affects. (Not wanting to bring up all that stuff before cos I think its good to have these little tests on here.)

Gotta agree with using another browser, I prefer Opera myself but got used to using IE again after reinstalling XP so I'm just being sloppy!

    Nothing much happened

An IE window opened and refreshed loads of times (blank page though). A telnet window opened and aload of text appeared in it (Star wars quotes and stuff).

It jammed my computer up a bit but I didn't need to reboot

I was really surprised at the attitude from some members, this "test" is not malicious, and doesn't hurt anything, like i said worst case is you have to reboot

I would'nt call it malicious at all, although it could freak out a lesser experienced user! I would'nt off followed the link before knowing what to expect anyway.

Aside from disabling scripts in IE or getting rid of IE entirely what else can you use to protect yourself from "malicious" scripts?
