Which is the best FTP program for converting my PC into a server for hosting files so others can download directly from? Thanks.

I have never used a ftp before, and don't know what i am doing. Which is the easiest to use but most versatile.

Err.. Isn't SmartFTP just a client and not a server?

i think, you just use bullet proof ... but think about:

if you want to be reachable for your friends, you need a static ip_adress, or you look on for some dyn.dns feature that makes you available to connect to your server !!!

    take a google B)

    cu ....... you are welcome

Serv-U is easier to use than Bulletproof ftp. Registration key can be inserted in "Licence," under Local Server. Enjoy.

bulletproof works and has fairly good security..

you will need a static ip or you will have to "bounce" through some other dns server..

like anything comp.related its not as easy as the media would have you believe..

    good luck

    out
