if you upped the bitrate, then it will improve the quality...for even better quality, change it to CQ_VBR - constant quality, variable bitrate and then play until you get a good filesize. this will make the less graphically intensive bits of film lower bitrate and the more demanding (action scenes) higher bitrate.
