Download Complete...but No Sound

I was hoping for some help, Please forgive me if this subject has been tackled already and just lead me in the right direction. Certain tracks I download play, but no sound comes from them. Am I doing somehting wrong? Any help would be great[

from where
and with what program?

Out of the hat i could say Bad Codecks, no?

trying to get crystal method, song is acetone from the legion of ddom album. use k-lite 2.4.3 and trying to play them in windows media players. In all honesty, I do not know much about codecs,I do have a codec pack though. any suggestions on what i should try

I would ReInstall Windows Media Player 9, did fix my troubles more than once.
Dont ask, i dont know how, but i got some videos & audios working...

Another really good player is WinAmp 5.01 Full

If that doesnt help:
Then install K-Lite Codec Pack 2.20 Full (6.28 Mb).

If no help, i dont know atm what to do, except wait for othere posts.

did you check to make sure its an mp3 file?
(right cilck>properties) see if its an actual mp3
if it is and wmp wont play it, its a bogus file

thats whats so troubling, its is an mp3 file. like i said, the file plays, i can see the progress bar rising, but no sound...so frustrating man. i have no clue. the only thing i know if only on this one album, never has happended before, i'm wodering if there is something protected

yeah, but dont wmp prompt you to get a license if its protected?
thought it did, i fecked up and got wmp 9 once,
(or maybe it was that feckin drm update before i turned off auto update )
but either way, while i had wmp 9, theres songs that came preinstalled,
and it popped up a message when i tried to check em out,
askin me if i wanted to acquire a license for em
i basically told wmp to feck off

go with what GS said, try a reinstall, maybe its just a bug it picked up,
and needs to be reinstalled, wont take but a minute
