Morphix is a modular distribution, with live-cd support (you burn the CD, you put it in your CD-Rom drive, you boot and it works... no harddisk-installation necessary, doesn't touch your data). Also, installing Morphix on a harddisk is a breeze, if you want to. Just click on the icon on the desktop, or choose the installer from the morphix/babytux submenu. Morphix should still be considered experimental in nature. No guarentees are given, use Morphix at your own risk!

ISO's with XFCE4, Gnome2.4, KDE3.1, a game iso and a large number of derivatives are available. Morphix is an Open Source/Free software project, based on Debian GNU/Linux and Knoppix.
Perfect for curious people who want to try a Linux distro without having to install anything.

Good for laptop users as well. I also recommend:

Mandrake Move
Damnsmall linux
Knoppix

and there are probably some more live cd distros out there but I dont recall.

The only issue with live cd is you want to make sure your cd rom is fast enough, unless your running it in ram then it should run a lot faster. A swap partition is good for that too.

Thats just so people can read the product details of mandrake move. Its good to know what some of the features are before someone downloads an iso that big. The download link is right under that. You can download it from a mandrake mirror site or suprnova if your brave.

I find it much easier to get it from a mirror site.

The last time I checked the MandrakeMove DL page, they actually had a torrent file there for it as well as the ftp links. I thought that was kinda kewl.

Edit: Removed the "." from the word torrent. Don't know why it got blocked, it wasn't even a link.

If the torrent is provided by the distro site then youll get good bandwidth as well. I downloaded a slackware distro with the torrent link they had on their site and got it pretty quick.

But the distros on suprnova and other bittorent sites would take longer to download.

To be honest I would not even download a "linux" distro from any place other than the links from the distro site.

If anyone does, I recommend they run an md5 checksum (do that anyway) on the iso. LOL, you might be installing an 0wned distro.

No.. theres a DL link on the site, you just need to dig for it.

Go to the Mandrake site. Click on the link that says "Download" at the top of the page in red.
Next page - Click on the lowest green button at the bottom of the page.
Click the link in red at the top of the page that says"MandrakeMove/i586 ISO Image" and you'll be looking at a huge list of ftp mirrors.
