  1. #1
    HI
I have a file that I just cannnot delete. I get the error msg 'Being used by another process' It is an avi file. I have used a system wiper to clean all temp files etc.

I have booted into safe mode and have turned of every single process until the comp crashes. Turned of sys restore in case it was somehow in there.

I am running xp pro btw. Could do with any suggestions here.. It is blinking blonking annyoying.

Hope this is the right forum for the question.. Seems the most applicable.

there is a registry tweak associated with this problem, but the simpler (and arguably less dangerous) way of removing the file is to delete it using nero burning rom
On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think "Ok, this is the limit".
As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.

Right click here and save target as. When the file is downloaded right click the file and choose install.

    Then delete Your file.

    or

In Windows XP You can delete the file this way:

    Start -> Run -> Command -> cd c:\YOUR FOLDER NAME -> del YOUR FILE.avi

if it is in a folder - remove all other items - and delete the entire folder (without the movie in right window view)

or try to put it in a folder

also- open task manager- ctrl\alt\del - goto processes - mark explorer.exe - end process. then file - new task - type explorer.exe, ok
    delete folder\file

    Cheers.
I will try those.. The Nero seems a good option right now.. It would not move to another folder either...
    Thanks again
