Burning Avi To Dvdr?

im desperate here, iv been searching for hours on the internet for a simple tutorial but it hasn't appeared. is there aynone here who knows how to do this. i want to burn avi to dvd but also fit on more than the 120 mins on a dvdr. anyone know where i can find a good tutorial. id be so grateful thanks. also i need to know what programs to use for encoding and increasing the length of the dvdr to over 120 mins.

avi is 700MB a DVD is 4.7 GB

so it will fit .
