help me plz, i'm sure someone can help. I ran an online scan and found that a dll file had contained a virus, I did what the site told me to do was go to run and enter a command to unregister the file. then the "rundll" got an illegal operation error, I went to start, and noticed the items abouve programs had a weird icon on it. the icon you get when a file type isn't known. I went to the shutdown box and noticed my "shutdown and go to msdos dissapeared. I restarted the PC and a box came up asking for the windows 98 cd code, to start windows, I entered it, and then it told me that explorer had run an illegal operation. I pressed close and then ctrl+alt+del and no programs were running in the background. Nothin happens. This happens all the time. The only thing that has changed is that it doesn't ask for the cd code. can someone help?

What? use the option that won't format the hardrive before installing? I think it is the update option? Will I be able to run that from msdos and use the update option?

The Win98 install shouldn't format the drive. Just run the install process again, installing to the same Windows directory, and it should be fine. It'll only take about 30-40mins.
if your font size is this small i'll add you to my ignore list because you're wasting my time, OK?

I would have to run it from msdos right? It won't let me go to windows.
