no this one...and you apply some on your heatsink and cpu after removing the thermalpad and cleaning it with some rubbing alcohol

It has Heatsink but does it come with a termal pad? (the intel i am getting)
Also how much, just a thin layer?

yes the retail cpu that you gettin comes with a heatsink that has a thermalpad on it
it's just a thin layer.

Well over here, they're letting you preorder the Prescotts for about £30 cheaper than the older and worse Northwoods.
EDIT: I really think you should wait. If anything, the prices of Northwoods will also drop very low, but it seems to me that Prescotts are even cheaper.

Nah, i never had a good computer before. I know the one i am getting now is pretty solid, and i don't want to get a chip that i find out is over hyped.
Here its $200, but another site says $600
Also i am planning to upgrade my PC every once and awhile, so if its anygood later i can get it.

dont go for the prescott
just check the benchmarks of the 3.2 NW vs 3.2 Prescott

just like when they first released P4 it wasnt the best cpu
but as the stepping improved the cpu became better and better
i think the same will happen with the Prescott...just give it some time and it will be a great cpu
