Thread: Are The .part Files The Same?

1. #1
I thought I heard somewhere that the .Part files for Overnet and eMule are different. I have just switched from Overnet Lite to HardMule. Is this true?

the ###.part files are different unless you go into options on ed2k/overnet and set it to use "old style" part files, then you can switch from emule to ed2k/overnet and back.

@MM i get great speeds on edonk

@vargas, aside from knowing what you are doing, edonkey and overnet are almost the same, except edonkey you have to connect to the servers with overnet you don't so i'm not surprised i have edonkey on my desktop also

come to think of it, you name it in p2p and i have it on my desktop, emule, edonkey, overnet, mirc,bittorrent,klite2.4, klite2.6, shareaza, soulseek, etc.

i get my easiest and best speeds programs are klite and overnet

emule does not even find as many sources as overnet does

Yea, I just realized the intensively SLOW speeds on HardMule, even though it says that it can go up to 170KB/s after 30 min. Online.

If I have old school .part files, does Overnet convert them to new ones, or do I have to click the option "Old Style Part File"?

yeah after it downloads some more of it, it will become "new style"
But something to keep in mind, alot of part.met utilities won't work with "new style" part files.
