Why Http:// Not Just Www

like when I type a post why do I have to type http://www instead of www. most boards don't need the extra work to post a url.
can this be fixed/changed ?

Even whatever.filesharingtalk.com would direct you to the forums

I'm talking about posting a link like to videolan, most forums just require www.videolan.org and when you post it attach's tags to it, but on here you have to type http://www.videolan.org for the board to attach tags

I'll see if I find the function. I can't do it with the word filter cause it would cause troubles.

If I add MAKE www. http://www. then the wordfilter would mess up http://www.domain.com by making it http://http://www.domain.com cause the www. would be replaced with http://

I'll have a look and see what I can do.

you can even do just videolan.org
