Ie6 Error: "invalid Syntax Error"

i know that microsoft recently released a patch for ie6 to stop allowing a username and password to be in the url of a website. for example:

if the username was BOB and the password was TOM, then the url you would type to get to the password protected site of www.website.com would be:

http://BOB:[email protected]

if you have the patch installed and try to type that url, you will get an error saying "INVALID SYNTAX ERROR" unlike before when you would go straight to the website.

my question is: is there a way to remove that one patch? and what would happen if i uninstalled it then reinstalled? will all the patches from windows update be removed? i don't want to have to switch browsers because i like ie6.

Add/remove programs I'm guessing? I don't have Windows anymore so I could be wrong.

already tried that, but it's not listed there. that list only has fixes to xp i believe, not ie

really not too sure about this but i dont have it in add/remove either - 'KB832894' according to my update history

maybe its what they mean by 'cumulative'

anyway so i dont know about removing it but according to this you can disable it if thats any help:

How to disable the new default behavior for handling user information in HTTP or HTTPS URLs
To disable the new default behavior in Windows Explorer and Internet Explorer, create iexplore.exe and explorer.exe DWORD values in one of the following registry keys and set their value data to 0.

For all users of the program, set the value in the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HTTP_USERNAME_PASSWORD_DISABLE

For the current user of the program only, set the value in the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_HTTP_USERNAME_PASSWORD_DISABLE
