How do I play and encode DivX?

and if you want to rip a dvd and encode it as divx, I found DVDX about the easiest to use, Yes I know there are better programs but dvdx is a nice easy starter program and there's loads of copies on kazaa

Just remeber to install the codec pack first

Dont use this mate no offence ,its crap.Gordian knots is the best but is you want an easy program,try http://www.vidomi.com/ or flaskmpeg for good results

To add another recommendation, you could try dr divx, its probably the easiest.
