You can't. The board width is set, the only thing you can do it get a lower screen resolution.

barely anybody on this forum doesn't use 1024x768

Help! Im trapped between two giant navy blue blocks
The board is optimized for 800 x 600 - that's why there are blue bars. We now support 56k users and 800 x 600 (screen res.) users.

800 x 600 is still web standard - that's the reason
About 30% of the people still use 800x600.
