Slow Download Speeds

Ok. I'm kinda new at this ..I've installed the new verison of K-lite on my PC after some Jerk sent me a infected file and wiped out PC :Well, I've noticed that my down load speeds..so slow! I'm running broad band so this should'nt be a problem. I've also noticed that people uplaoding from me are uploading at a much higher rate. I.ve tried jumping Zupernodes but. not much of a change. I have also disabled the XP firewall. Any Help or thoughts...Thanks

From what i have learned the download speed is effected by the speed of the source and the number of sources of you have. Try some of the tips posted here:

your download speed depends on the # of sources for it and their upload speed, anddon't be fooled by what you see in the search window they are not an indication of who is available for connection so change supernodes to see if you get lucky, also use localized supernodes, also try changing ports, and lower your upload bandwidth,remove the no ip sources from your dat files and see if it helps, if you have a router get kanat. also run adaware or spy sweeper to make sure pc is clean, anti virus is not enough.
