Thread: Why Is It That People Cant Delete The Fake Files

1. #11
Thank you to Xero Grid and Arcamean for your answers.

thank you about renaming the file-I deleted it on KL but it is still somewhere as I ran across it, Download maybe?
I tried to preview that file but nothing would show. I am downloadind Clerks at about 2kbs and it is a big file, so far I have been downloading for 18 hours and it still wont show anything when I try to preview. the little message on the bottom says "connecting". But it seems a harmless exercise and gives my daughter and I something to do during the day, check on the download...

I don't see a "forum" anywhere but I did read about eMule and have been looking for that, did find the web site and it sent me to two colleges to find a download but never did find anything. Bit Torrent is one I would have loved to download as it is very well recommended everywhere but I had forgotten it.

I forgot where I had posted my questions so had to search through to where I had posted.

No one else seems to write long notes, everyone else is too busy. Bad form I guess. I tried to get on the chat lines to ask my ignorant questions but only sex is allowed. Hot chats and web cams seems to be the topic of the day. If anyone knows of an actual KL chat especially for beginners, I will go there.

thank you again for your courtesy and simple answers.

The message board is what I mean by forum. Same thing.
https://filesharingtalk.com/index.php
This is the index of the subsections of the forum. Look down. It'll have a nice selection of sections.

For the chat, try using an IRC client and check out the "web" tab on your K-Lite. It'll say something about chat there. I don't use IRC, so I can't help you if you don't know what it is.

Oh, and you should start your own thread if you want faster and more certain answers.
For example. This post lies here
https://filesharingtalk.com/index.php?showforum=68
Now, if you wanted to start your own topic, just click on the button on the right side that says start new topic, and... the rest is easy.

If you want to see old posts (only up tp 10), click on "my assistant" and there will be a pop-up. Just click on "my last 10 posts"

It's all real easy, once you get the hang of it.

If a file is mis-named but still a 'good' file, renaming it doesn't solve the problem if many others still have it misnamed.

A search first finds files by keywords, then starts looking for hash/size matches.

Your file would still turn up under the fake file name if someone with the fake file was found first.

If you think about thats the only thing draging fast track, I mean the only catogry that dosnt involve fakes is porn.

I think shareman should screw kazaa and make a fresh new p2p app, atleast some of the fakes will dissapeare
Its not the people. Its the comapnies. Works lil' something like this

1. Bad Company puts fake files on. (Like RIAA)

2. One person with a fast-ass connection is downloading lots of songs.

3. They don't relize that they downloaded a fake song becuase they didn't try them all. Since they downloaded so many.

4. Another parson downloads they song and repeat steps 2-4 and/or 3-4.

Preety easy howthey files can get spread.

You know if you get a file and it wasn't what you expected and you still keep it, but you don't want it to be shared making people think it's something else... just rename it.

But a lot of files on the FastTrack Network have bencome currupted and incorrectly named, so I what I can. I use Bit Torrent. There's a whole section on BT in the forum. I've never found a corrupted file. When I get stuff from BT, I share it on K-Lite.

couldnt have said it better myself. I download everything now from BT and share it to klite
