are u looking to write pdf files from scratch? If so then you can write pdf files with latex (free win version is MikTex).

NB latex is the professional word processing program, its what nearly all books, professional papers etc are written in, but its like a programming language rather than a WYSIWYG word processor like Word and some things can be a pain in the arse to sort out/learn. There is a WYSIWYG sort of program that uses latex and so could generate pdf's, but i've never tried it and i can't remember the name.

ya writing from scratch but i want the ones where there is a friendly user interface. Like microsoft word.....

the one u mentioned sounds hard to use and requires programming knowledge to do it so it wont cut it for me.

yeah latex can sometimes . I just googled it and the WYSIWYG version i was talking about is called Lyx http://www.LYX.org/. Apparently requires no knowledge of latex so I think it should be almost like word. Its open source so its free, but the windows support although present looks a bit shaky.
