Photoshop Associations

I have photoshop 7 installed and I used to be able to choose to "open with" photoshop a file such as jpeg or gif. Now after uninstalling photoshop CS and installing 7 I can't get 7 on the list. I can't even browse to the photoshop.exe. After I find the file and hit enter I go back to the open with dialogue box but photoshop isn't added. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it didn't help.

ImageReady shows on the list, but no PS. I tried changing the program to imageready and it's still not there.

Any suggestions?

I even tried adding a value in the registry under file types and the open with key. what the fuck is all I have to say. that should've solved the problem.
