Getting Adsl Soon...

Ok, I'm on

56K

right now, and here in about a week I'm getting ADSL with a 384K downstream and a 128K upstream. I get free modem, free installation, and one month free with a 1 year contract, so hey, I couldn't pass this up. But I'm paying 45 bucks a month, is this a good deal?

So, will I be able to actually download stuff of Kazaa, eMule, regular internet, etc... at like 384 kbs? Any comments welcome.

it is always dependant on the user you are downloading from's connection. If they/them have good connections you will get good speeds.

I get about 70KB/s on 600K so you should get about 40-50KB/s

Ah....bleh...I thought it would be faster...oh well...any thing is better than the dial up I have right now. FOR EXAMPLE....I'm getting a whopping connection speed of 26.4 Kbps right now!

dont know where youre at crono, but here in cali the cable's only 45 bucks
for a 1.5 meg connection, maybe you could look into that as well
if available, you could get more bang fer yer buck B)

I got a 3.5 mbps down and 256 kb up. For 40 bucks a month.

Holy crap...oh well, 384 Kbps will do me for now. But I live out in the country, and no I'm so stupid f!@king farmer, but the choices of highspeed internet is sorta limited out here.
