Is the keyboard able to plug into the ps/2 port?
If it is plug it into the ps/2 then boot into windows, then plug it into the usb port, you may then need to install the drivers. I suppose you could use your old keyboard first if that is possible.

You may also need to enable usb keyboard support in your bios, i've no idea what you can do if the keyboard isn't able to plug into a ps/2 port and you have no other keyboard.

Edit - I take it you have another keyboard as you have managed to post

do u have ur old keyboard or did the new one come with a usb-to-ps/2 adapter?

if u can get a ps/2 keyboard then go into teh bios and find somewhere it says usb legacy support i think that is what i enabled to get mine to work.

I don't have a usb keyboard, so i don't really no anything about them.
But if you go into control panel on windows then printers and other hardware then select keyboard, then select troubleshoot.
It covers problems with usb keyboards, that's about all i can suggest.

are your USB drivers installed? try just starting up teh computer without teh keyboard hooked up (use a different keyboard to boot with) and once windows has started up then plug it into A DIFFERENT PORT THAN BEFORE and windows will reinstall the drivers and then teh keyboard should start workign and you can unplug the old one.
