Thread: Avi Preview

  1. #1
I use AVI preview to preview my partialy downloaded videos ! (What else durrr)

But I find that it only previews about 50% of my files.

Giving various messages such as Codec mising or not enough filters.

Yet when the file is fully downloaded I am able to play it using DVI player or Light Alloy or Windows Media Player etc.

    Why is this

Also it seems that the last version was in Mid 2003. Is this correct ?

Hey fellow Kiwi, add Videolan in as a preview tool. get Videolan from sig below and see HERE on how to set it up.

    Hi Cyril Bowie (is it?)

Thanks, I do have Video Lan, and have both AVIpreview and VidoeLan installed as a right click preview on Kazaalite.

I find that AVi Preveiw plays approx 50% of my partial vids.

I find that Video Lan (ver 0.7) plays some that AVIpreview does not but it does not play every vid and quite often I find it a bit unstable in that it becomes hard to close etc.

So both programs have a ways to go.

What I can't understand about about AVIpreveiw is that the files that won't partial play nearly always play using either DIVX player or LightAlloy when fully downloaded.
