that site u posted to is only free delivery on orders over 100 if u didnt notice it
yeah but im either gonna get a 80Gb hard drive or a better cpu plus its a Uk company so its gonna b cheaper than shipping.

you want a 5600xt to play hl2 and doom3 on high if not maximum setting? i got one word for u.....hahahahhahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahha lol. that isnt going to be able to handle it on low/ minimal setting. 5600xt are 64 bit memory bandwidth just like 9200se. so try to stretch ur budge a bit more and get a 5600 or 9600...it isnt that much more but the increase in performance in huge /QUOTE]
1)like i sed i dont know many new cards, i say bring back Vodoo's
2)how much more is a 5600? which is better a 9600 or the 5600? whats gonna b the preformance diffance?
3)You got any evidence to back up that half life crap? cause on a site then had a enter ur spec and they tell u if it plays and on my current spec i can play on mid.
Currently, if you want high image quality, Ati are the leaders, because their cards are far better with the AAF etc turned up.....i would look for a 9600 or a 9600xt.....possibly a 9700 if you can find one cheap, because most can be overclocked into pros.

You may be able to play according to the minimum specs on HL2, but if you want it to look good and not to lag then an ATI is in order methinks.

whats that card going to give me as an advantage over the 5600 or the Nvidia version of it. the deal looks very good, howveer i havent even oc'ed anything but have been lookking into and downloading alot of things that should help me oc my cpu.

also the card up from it:

Sapphire Atlantis Radeon 9600 256Mb DVI Retail Boxed

its about £7 more if its gonna increase gaming by alot etc etc i could push for that

EDIT: also on the card you linked to it says: NB. Lite Version Supplied in the spefications. does this mean its a lite version and what does that mean? does it mean the card is craper or i lose the free shit?

The 9600 128 is a good card for that price, it would preform better then the 5600XT
and dont listen to buddy talkin shit about not bein able to play HL2, he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about to say the least.
but yes, the 9600 would be a better bet over the 5600XT, and Oc'ing isn't difficult, just get a temp monitor and maybe read up a bit, it's nothing hard though
as for the 128 or the 256, theres a lot of controversy over the 256, debating on whether its worth it, myself i dont think it is, i would save your money if you are on a budget, as no current games are intense enough to use 256mb of memory anyway, 128 is plenty

also on the card you linked to it says: NB. Lite Version Supplied in the spefications. does this mean its a lite version and what does that mean? does it mean the card is craper or i lose the free shit?
nope it is retail so you wouldnt lose any software or anything that is bundled with it, not sure what that means though, however you dont lose your software or anything

256mb of memory isnt worth having mate, it tends to be slower memory, and no games use it yet, so by the time they do need 256mb of memory, your cards architecture will be out of date anyway

OC'ing a graphics card is relativley easy, you can do whats called soft modding, where a driver or BIOS flash convinces your card its faster than it actually is, convinces it its a pro model. The downside is increased temperature, so it would be good to pick one with a fan or a big heatsink, but there shouldnt be any major difficulties if your careful and research what your doing

but i sed this card will hav to last 1-2 years so in 18months to get full proformaance will i need a 256mb? also apart from playing games that need a min of 256 over 128 does the card offer anything better like better tranfur or some dhit like that, thjat makes it work faster?

Edit: i just got a new mobo and it came with temp stuf in the bios on just turning it on cpu stays at about 48 but system is 41. i have 1 fan over my motherfucker of a duron but nothing else.

no as RGX said when you get the 256, it tends to be lower quality memory as opposed to fast 128, which is more then enough to handle any game within the next 2 years most likly
yes you would most likly want to pick up another 80mm probably as well, those are only £3-4 though

ati radeons should have a fan built on....if not they have a big heatsink to handle cooling, so oc'ing shouldnt be a problem

Trust me, by the time games are asking for 256mb of memory to run your card's architecture will be too slow to handle it....there will prob be a new direct x out which it doesnt support

If you get a 256, it will prob run slower than a 128 due to the crappier memory
