sounds like the rumorville to me, yet it would kick ass if it really gets off the ground.
Never miss a good chance to shut up

Wasn't Dungeons & Dragons (Jeremy Irons) based on the Dragon Lance novels I 'm pretty sure that the co. that makes D&D also publishes the Dragon Lance series.

no, it was NOT related to dragonlance, other than the name of d&d.

If they take a good series to make a movie of, and has a huge budget, it could seriously kick lotr. however, i don't think that'll happen - tho i hope it will ^^

as for the publishing, the p'n'p d&d was made by gary gygaxx ages ago ('70s) and now the rights are owned by wizards of the coast (before them, TSR owned it).

Considering that D&D was basically a box office flop, I relly don't see them making any effort to expand this franchise.

I agree, I expected it to be like the animated series that came on tv (in the UK), but wasn't anything like it.

EDIT: I downloaded the animated series from bittorrent recently

I'm not just going to disagree to be an ass but the Dragonlance books really sucked im my opinion. After the first book in the series there was no coherent storyline and huge sections were missing from the story. The end just felt rushed and tagged on.

There were some great ideas in the story but I don't feel there is a movie in this and hope they don't. After all the last movie they tried was horrendous it was like Saved By The Bell meets LOTR.

War of the Twins would possibly make a decent movie...
