Is My Host Messing Me About?

Hi, ive recently bought a new .com domain @ hostway.com. Now i want to use my ipowerweb account (which currently hosts netweiser) to host this new domain. I emailed them, and they said i have to transer the domain to them first. Now on other domains i own, i simply edited the dns info at hostway. Any ideas?

Some do require you to transfer your current domain as opposed to doing it any other way unless you register another whole new domain with them. Its quite common
