How did this happen? I got virus protection, adaware, and CWshredder?
I don't visit places like that

I have toddlers who occasionally use the PC. How can I prevent this garbbage spam from popping up on my computer?

Thanks, I got rid of it. The fact that an icon appears on the desktop makes me mad. I would like to exactly know how it got there. It is like somebody planned this ahead of time for some unsuspecting victim. It is an intrusion.

Actually, this icon is just a *.url that opens up into a "FileSearch" web page for adult services.

My best guess is that I was searching for some free files, and some places were "warez" sites with adult popup windows. I click the "close" button to close the popup. That button was probably an "Add Icon to Desktop" button, but renamed to "Close". Clicking the "X" at the top right corner would have been a better choice.

I usually run Popup Stopper, but sometimes I am lazy.
