What I Still Dont Understand ".tar"

I still dont understand wat u guyz r saying i need detailed instructions, on how to veiw a .tar file...........please!!!

It stands for TapeArchive.

WinZip or WinRAR should be able to decompress it.

you don't view it, you view what's IN it after you extract it
it's an archive, like a .zip file
i use winrar to extract them personally

EDIT: GOD I HATE PPL THAT TYPE IN CAPS AND USE TOO MUCH PUNCUATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

double click the one you want to use.

Then choose Select The program from the list


THen choose the program you that will extract the file. For me its Winwar.




Then press< Extract To> Press Ok.Then you should see it extracing

then go to the new created file, you can find this New file in the directory the you first extrated the tar rar file.Just look around if you cant find it, it should be there.

Next, after you find the new file open the file up and if youu have alot of little files click on the smallest file that is a tar rar or par

i choose the last file because it is the smallest.Then repeat the process again and you should get a mpeg or and bin and cue .If you get a bin and cue file you could burn it with nero image selection or a mpeg will burn in nero too.

Thank you god so much i really appreciate you doing that it help. I have 1 more question. When i c tyhe bin and cue, i can only burn it no watch it on my computer?

you can play it in videolan http://www.videolan.org
or you can burn it and play in stand alone dvd player

OO and i have dvd xcopy gold can i burn it from there? if so how?
