    85, or as high as it will let you
    low refresh rate gives you headaches

    but be careful dont set the rate above 75 if ur monitor is LCD monitors

    u'll blow it

    Actually, when you have vertical sync enabled, if you have a quality* graphics card, I think that 75 Hz is optimal, in other words, the optimal sync will be 75 frames per second.

    I got a envisi9on 19 in. lcd with a gf 2 mx 400 card and my refresh rate is running at 72 without any problems..

    yeah, turn off vertical sync and set ur refresh rate to @ least 100mhz!

    I have a 17in Sharp TFT monitor and can't set it higher than 60 hertz before my desktop icons look like shit.

    Apparently it is because the coding in Windows XP is flawed and it needs fixed.

    Microsoft posted an article on their website, but it still hasn't resolved the situation. I have an ATI 9800 128MB Pro with the latest drivers, as well as my monitor.

    Microsoft do know how to mess up people's lives. Everyone's telling me that as soon as I manage to fix the refresh rate I'll notice a huge difference but it's like waiting for P2P sharing to become legal worldwide.

    games keep defaulting to 60hz as well with xp but this tool forces it to the refresh rate u want

    Interference from indoor lighting can lead to strobing effects. The nearer to supply frequency you get the worse the problem becomes.

    So 50Hz and multiples would be bad in Europe. Similarly, 60Hz and multiples are not a good idea in N. America.
