i think that there was no god but society was fucked up. with no cctv or forensic science people needed an extraordinary power to sort things out. therefore a big fuckoff rule book was written, if you dont follow the rules you go to hell. if you dont believe that you go to hell. then the safest thing to do is just follow the rules.
