    Why dont you just switch of your PC's power, thus cutting off all motherboard funtions.

    Maybe because it's nearly impossible to share and DL files with the PC turned off.

    My MX500 stays on after the power is off. The back power switch may do something though.

    yeah MOST will just dimm themselves when not used for a while, that's what mine does, but if even that is to bright for you then just cover it up!
    You might be able to do something w/ scheduled tasks but i doubt it

    mine doesnt dimm its just starts flashing when i am trying 2 get 2 sleep

    it flashes? make sure the wire isnt bent in a way that is causing it to move at all or else the light will become brighter, and if it still flashes then just cover it with something.
