I dont know if this is the right section but what do people think is the best for film back ups + or -? I'm a little confused over the issue, and whats the general opinion on the Novatech orange 4x discs?

I use + mainly, although i have used - as well. My dvd writer works best with +.

But i think - is thought to be compatible with more dvd players.

You are correct, the - format is more widely compatible with standalone DVD players. The + format burns at higher speeds though, but many - format drives are catching up in burn speed quickly. A lot of the new drives are +/- and can burn in either format anyway, so see which one would suit you better.

Thanks guys, after doing alot more reading myself aswell I think we'll give the - a go. They are also(as mentioned earlier) cheaper. I have been using +RW so far while I have been a Noob at this and so will now transfer to the R's when they arrive.
    Thanks for your help people.
