I am looking to change browsers and would like to try Mozilla Firefox. Trouble is, after installing, I click the icon and nothing happens. firefox.exe is in the running processes, but no window appears. Any ideas on what to try?

This is an idea. If you have any other Netscape, Mozilla, Firebird or similar type browsers already installed. There could be a conflict.

Have you restarted your computer? This sometimes happeneds to me with Nero and a restart fixes it.

Maybe your download of Firefox installed but was still corrupt. Redownload it.

Maybe you have old registry keys hanging around from asaid forementioned Netscape-type browsers.

    Tried redownloading, no change.

I can't see any extra browser related keys in the registry.

I'm off to bed now, will have another stab at this tomorrow. I really want to try it.

Unfortunately Firefox doesn't use the registry and doesn't conflict with anything else as it's completely independent.
