I graduated from high school in 1985, so a lot of songs from that era bring back good (and sometimes bad) memories for me. These are all the songs currently in my Vice City/mp3 folder:

Adam Ant - Strip
Aha - Take On Me
Baltimora - Tarzan Boy
Bangles - Hazy Shade of Winter
Bangles - Walk Like An Egyptian
David Lee Roth - I'm Easy
Dead or Alive - You Spin Me Right Round
Dream Academy - Life In A Northern Town
Frank Stallone - Far From Over
Glass Tiger - Don't Forget Me When I'm Gone
Glenn Frey - The Heat Is On
Glenn Frey - You Belong To The City
Glenn Frey- Smuggler's Blues
Harold Faltermeyer - Axel F
Huey Lewis & The News - I Want A New Drug
Jan Hammer - Miami Vice Theme
Kenny Loggins - Danger Zone
Kenny Loggins - Footloose
Kenny Loggins - I'm Alright (Theme From Caddyshack)
Mike & The Mechanics - All I Need Is A Miracle
Morris Day & The Time - Jungle Love
Morris Day & The Time - The Bird
Night Ranger - Don't Tell Me You Love Me

No Doubt did it on MTV's 1999/2000 New Years Eve Show. The original was from REM's Eponymous, which was released in 1988. Many consider it to be an anthem which summed up the '80s. Another good one is...
