dont need multi region for divx and avi, shit once i get a divx player im never going to a video rent store again ever lol, and u can make dvdr and dvdrw region free , so i would say whats more important is if the supplier can keep up with the divx versions, and let you upgrade the codec's

According to this it is region free straight out of the box.

I use Smartripper to remove macrovision and make dvds region free. You can do this with either a real dvd or an image, but most images that you download have already had this done.

If necessary, I then use Dvdshrink to reduce the size so that it will fit onto a dvd-r.

You can find out more about these progs, and download them, at doom9.

I've had one of these since August last year ,my brother as just got one from eBuyer and at this moment is testing the Dvd side as he as a cutter I don't.
The player as done well plays everything I have threw at it with ease (except "wma" files) best thing since sliced bread as they say.
