    1. Sata currently offers 150MB/s, not 1.5GB/s.

    2. Media transfer rate = 757Mb/s - that's Megabits per second = 95MB/s. So media rate is slower than interface rate. Average.

    3. 3.1 Bels idle acoustics. I assume that means 31dB. That's noisy for idle. How loud it is active? Pass the ear protectors.

Ok, it's a big drive, but it's performance isn't all that stunning.

exactly, huge hd's take longer to read and write, so you have to partition them to a smaller size

much better getting smaller drives, with faster spin rates eg wd raptors at 10,000 rpm

there is no need for mass storage on hard drives today when dvd data burns will take 4.7 gig

go for speed and big buffers, rather than size

What about those of us who prefer not to use DVD-R(W) technology? It gets a little irritating having to go through a whole load of DVDs just to find that episode of the Simpsons you've been looking for.
On a given day or given circumstance, you think you have a limit.
And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit and you think "Ok, this is the limit".
As soon as you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further.
