I was thinking of building a barbecue, as the summer months approach. Can anyone tell me the best type of wood to use in it's construction. I want it to last for several years if at all possible.

I think you're a bit behind the times in your barbeque construction technologies, plastic is all the rage these days. Not only is it lighter, and thus more mobile, it is also completely waterproof so you can barbeque in all weathers.Originally posted by internet.weather@11 March 2004 - 23:37

Bricks are you best bet IW they last a long time and they look tidy and presentable in your garden.

i started making one with bricks , gave up after 3 days and hired someone who actually knew what he was doing . so yeah id say bricks.
