I've noticed that ppl keep asking the same questions. Like can a 705 mb file fit on a 700mb disc. Or how do i burn a MPG to VCD.

Well ive created this thred because im tired of those questions.

Now everyone has to pitch in.

Post a question that has been asked over and over again, then put the awnser. Then mabye people will look at tis, and see what their looking for.

    I'll go first.

What program can i use to show my system specs, temperature, and processes running in the background?

AIDA32! This program will do all those things for you. You can download it from HERE

Maybe if people just did not answer thoose type of questions everytime someone posted they will have no choice but to search the forum or better yet, open up their eyes and see the pinned topics.

While I agree that thread topics are often repeated, the more experienced forums memebers (those who are familiar with the etiquette), should take note of the type of users often asking the question.

IMO, they are new users and unfamiliar to either the internet or their systems. Or they are children. Whatever the case; what to do and how to proceed in going about it on a forum is relatively a new experience for them. And yes- it might just be a good idea for any user, new or otherwise, to first browse any site's contents for what it is they are searching. However, I have taken notice that they seem generally not to because they just do not know any better in the first place. And to expect that everyone pick-up on "the way things work" the first time around would be, IMO, somewhat insensitive.

They just want their problem asked and answered. Quickly and in the most efficient manner possible. And perhaps if something struck their fancy about this place (or any) they just may return. On a more regular basis and with hopes that they share whatever meager knowledges they have accumulated in order to share his/her own with other "noobs". The forums would indeed be somewhat empty without these people. Transformed into more of the FAQs area someone else mentioned, rather than the informal chat lounge it is designed to be.

I just think that some measure of leniancy should be permitted. Experienced memebers who do stupid things are often easy enough to weed out and put in their place. Why turn-off new blood just because there is thing or two we are aware of- and perhaps that they are, at present, "not"?
