I've had this problem in WinAmp and WMP9 - when I play FN there is one scene (surfer dudes , kid turtles playing) where the sound goes bad and both WinAmp and WMP give me the "[]has to close" box. The movie before and beyond the scene is just fine - any program that can fix this/workaround ?
play the movie with a different player (MPC or BSplayer)
BSplayer gave up as well... same scene. Is there any way to check/fix the AVI ?
try DivFix. it mite extract the bad sceend for you, and you can at least watch the rest of the film
it should also generate an error report, so you can see what was wrong
